|What you’ll need:
Tie one end of the rope to the stake and then secure the stake into the ground at the corner of the longest side of your pond.

|To get length & width:
Walk the side of the pond while holding the rope and then use a piece of electrical tape to mark off the distance to the end. Repeat for shorter side.
|To get diameter:
Walk to the opposite side of your pond while holding the rope and then use a piece of electrical tape to mark the distance.*For oval or irregularly shaped ponds, take measurements from multiple locations and average them together.
|To get average depth:
Tie a weight to the end of your rope and drop it to the bottom and then pull the rope taut before marking the rope. Repeat in at least 3 places and average the results.**For large ponds we recommend taking measurements from a boat.
