I am very happy with Nualgi. I took these clear pictures here today and the temps were between 100 and 110 for two weeks. The murky picture is before I started. Nualgi works.
No UV lights, the plants are thriving, the fish are happy and I included one picture of the new crop of babies born this summer that hide in the plants. I used other products before I used Nualgi like Algae Fix (sp) and it never even touched the problem. I have ordered a refill of Nualgi today.
Pictures may not be great but I wanted to show the improvement so far.
I was having trouble with my pond, it had turned very green with pea soup algae, I was using a UV light (large) and could not clear it. It is a fairly new gunite pond (14 months old), 5K gallon, approximately 6-7 feet deep.
May 14, 2015 – Before applying Nualgi
When I first called and talked to you I could not even see the fish unless I was feeding. You encouraged me to be patient, which was the absolute best thing you could have said. It took 4 weeks, I got rid of the UV light, and started to add Nualgi. I added a little Microbe-Lift at one point because at two weeks in I was not getting the results and I called you for advice. You recommended I talk with Cali Koi, a wealth of information.
July 8, 2015 – 8 weeks of Nualgi
I stayed the course, added the right amounts on the specified intervals, and have seen my pond go from pea soup to crystal clear. I am a believer in Nualgi. I am an amateur pond homeowner, I use a great bio filter, have a bottom drain and a skimmer, a basket that traps material before it goes into the bio filter and the pond is roughly 5,000 gallons. It is very hot here in Redding, with temps frequently above 100 degrees most days in the summer.
