Completely eliminated my string algae problem!

This product was critical to dealing with my string algae problem, but it cannot do the job alone. If your pond has too many fish or you feed them too much, the pond's marginal plants are never going to be able to keep up with the excessive nitrogen burden. Consequently, you will always have algae blooms. But if you add this product weekly, along with beneficial bacteria to keep the ammonia excretion of the fish moving toward nitrate, then the nitrogen with go primarily to the diatoms (brown algae) and the marginal pond plants, and there will be less nitrogen available to feed the green algae. Most people's problem is that they overfeed their fish. Feed only once a day, and no more than they can completely consume in 5 minutes. Any more food than that and you'll just be feeding the green algae.
